Dr Dino Samartzis
Dr Dino Samartzis, DSc, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center and the Director of the International Spine Research Institute (ISRI) at RUSH University in Chicago, USA. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and the Chair Elect of AOSpine's International Research Commission. He was previously a professoriate faculty member at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at The University of Hong Kong.
He has pursued undergraduate/graduate studies at Northwestern University, Harvard University, University of Oxford, Cambridge University, and Erasmus University. He completed post-doctoral fellowships at the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH), the United States National Academy of Sciences, the Radiation Effects Research Foundation in Japan, and HKU. He has over 18 years of experience in clinical and translational spine research, has published over 350 journal articles, book chapters multimedia, etc, and has been the Editor-in-Chief of several textbooks and journal theme issues. He has received over 50 international awards for his research and has been the lead investigator in numerous large-scale, multicenter, international studies. He is a member of numerous societies, and Director/Chair and founder of various international consortiums.
