Dr Dino Samartzis
Dr Dino Samartzis, DSc, is a faculty member at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Director of Clinical Spine Research, Deputy Director of the Laboratory and Clinical Research Institute of Pain, and Warden (Head) of Hornell Hall at HKU.
He has pursued undergraduate/graduate studies at Northwestern University, Harvard University, University of Oxford, Cambridge University, and Erasmus University. He completed post-doctoral fellowships at the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH), the United States National Academy of Sciences, the Radiation Effects Research Foundation in Japan, and HKU. He has over 15 years of experience in clinical and translational spine research, has published over 280 journal articles and book chapters, and has been the Editor-in-Chief of several textbooks and journal theme issues. He has received over 45 international awards for his research and has been the lead investigator in numerous large-scale, multicenter, international studies. He is a member of numerous societies, and Director/Chair and founder of various international consortiums.
