Dr Theodoras B Grivas
Dr Theodoros B Grivas, MD, PhD is currently Director of the Traumatology and Orthopaedic Department at Tzaneio General Hospital in Piraeus.
He completed his medical doctorate and postgraduate degrees at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and completed his training in general surgery, paediatrics and adult orthopaedics and traumatology in Greece. Dr Grivas has served appointments in the UK at the University Hospital, Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham as well at the Harlow Wood Orthopaedic Hospital in Mansfield, and as an attending orthopaedic surgeon at the Evangelismos and Thriasio General Hospital in Athens, Greece. Dr Grivas was also a traveling fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS). He has served as the President of the International Research Society for Spinal Deformities (IRSSD) and the Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT), and is currently the President-Elect of the Hellenic Spine Society. He is a member of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, AOA, SRS and of numerous other scientific societies. He has been very active in several clinical and basic science research, most notably he has implemented the large-scale Scoliosis School Screening Program in Greece.
